Because dermatology is a complex visual specialty that mixes medical and surgical approaches to management, trainees need fast access to a wide range of material. This concise new reference uses tables, algorithms, protocols, guidelines, and staging and scoring systems to present succinct guidance on best-practice patient care. Structured around three components -- medical, surgical, and pharmacological -- the book consolidates the core Board exam information residents most often look up. Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual  was road-tested as it was developed to ensure usefulness for dermatology residents, dermatologists, and family physicians.

Great resource for dermatology residents and attendings alike. (2010-04-26)
The handbook is essential for any dermatology resident during training and for board studying. It is also very handy for those in private practice who do not have a resident to grab one from. It is the equivalent of the "Washington Manual" for dermatologists.
Everything you need...if you can find it. (2010-01-13)
This book is a nice size to carry and has everything you need for Dermatology clinic and quick topic review including medical Dermatology, Dermpath, surgery and a great pharmacology section. My only critique of this book is that there are three main sections and a somewhat anemic index. All of the info you need is in this book, but it may take you a few minutes to find it. Overall a good collection of the papers residents have stuffed in their pockets in one place.
